SOKE HIROKAZU KANAZAWA - World Chief Instructor of the
SHOTOKAN KARATE INTERNATIONAL
FEDERATION, has taught at the Konjaku Shin
National School of Karate on several occasions. One
of the worlds most respected and
knowledgeable karate instructors, his unique
talents mean he is in constant demand in all
corners of the world.
Born in 1931 Kanazawa
Sensei went on to graduate from the famous Takushoku University.
From there he
joined the J.K.A. In 1957 he took part in the first Japan Karate Championship
and became Kumite Champion. The following year he became both Kata and Kumite champion.
This he repeated in 1959.
In 1960 he became Chief Instructor in Hawaii and the United States.
In 1974, along with Asano Sensei, he formed SHOTOKAN KARATE INTERNATIONAL.

SHOTOKAN KARATE INTERNATIONAL (GB)
was the first national association
to affiliate to S.K.I.(TOKYO).
Kanazawa Sensei now heads an association with over two and a
half million students, in more than one hundred countries.
In April 2000, while attending the 7th S.K.I.F.
World Championships in Bali, Shihan Kanazawa was promoted to the grade of
10th Dan.
